Offices and workspaces

Flexible cable management for today's and tomorrow's office floor

Designed for Modern Offices

Intercell is a compact floor system for organising technical cabling beneath the office floor while simultaneously supporting underfloor and central heating. Manufactured from durable galvanised steel with recyclable components, it delivers a stable, sustainable, and modular solution with fast, drill-free installation and straightforward workplace reconfiguration.

✓ 100% recyclable steel components
✓ Lightweight structural system
✓ Modular and reconfigurable design
✓ 40–110 mm system heights, suitable for any ceiling height

How the Intercell floor is constructed

The construction consists of three components that together form a solid, stable surface: floor supports, floor boxes and floor panels. The floor supports carry the system and determine the final height of the floor. Cables and connection points are concealed within the floor boxes, precisely where they are needed. On top of this construction lie individual steel floor panels of 500 x 500 mm, onto which carpet tiles, PVC or a timber top layer can then be applied.

Fast and flexible reconfiguration

Offices change: teams grow, shrink, or relocate, and workspaces are reorganised. Because Intercell is installed drill-free and each floor panel sits independently, a new layout can be realised relatively quickly. Panels are removed, cables rerouted, and the panels replaced — without the need for large-scale floor break-up. This makes office reconfiguration simpler and less disruptive than traditional cable management systems or a fully raised floor.

Sustainable and future-proof

Intercell consists of a minimum of 25% recycled steel (LEED-approved), and the steel base elements are 100% recyclable. The floor supports are produced using green energy. Once installed, no readjustment or settlement correction is required.

Key Benefits

Core Advantages of the Modular System

Rapid Modularity

The interlocking system enables fast installation and reconfiguration without drilling. Assembly on a levelled floor is straightforward via adhesive bonding. Available in 6 fixed heights.

High Load Capacity

Class 4B per EN12825, with a maximum load exceeding 9 kN and a deflection of less than 2.5 mm. The system withstands both soft body and hard body impact tests without failure.

Durable and Recyclable

Intercell contains a minimum of 25% recycled steel (LEED-approved). The steel base components are 100% recyclable.

Fire Safe

Fire resistance tested in accordance with EN13501-1 and EN13501-2, class Afl-s1. In a small-scale fire test under a load of 800 kg/m², maximum deflection remained limited to 0.98 mm.

Acoustic Comfort

Enhanced sound insulation, both horizontal and vertical, and sound absorption with or without carpet. The use of acoustic barriers further improves the overall acoustics of the floor.

Heating Compatible

The system is exceptionally well suited for underfloor heating and central heating, thanks to its removable, lightweight floor panels.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Intercell suitable for existing office buildings?

Yes. Since no drilling is required and the system is available from as low as 40 mm in height, Intercell is also suitable for existing buildings with low ceilings.

How quickly can a workstation be relocated?

A 500 x 500 mm floor panel can be removed without tools, meaning cable rerouting and workstation reconfiguration can often be completed within a single day.

Is the system compatible with underfloor heating?

Yes, Intercell is fully compatible with both underfloor heating and central heating systems, thanks to its removable, lightweight floor panels.

How much weight does the system add to the structure?

A maximum of 22 kg/m², while load-bearing capacity remains consistently high thanks to 64 floor supports per m² and galvanised steel construction (Class 4B, EN12825).

Is the system fire-safe?

Yes, Intercell has been fire-resistance tested in accordance with EN13501-1 and EN13501-2, achieving Class Afl-s1. In a small-scale fire test under a load of 800 kg/m², maximum deflection remained limited to 0.98 mm.
