Intercell products

Floor panels

The floor panels from Intercell form the visible layer of the system. Strong, durable, and always easy to remove for access to the utilities beneath the floor.

High-quality steel

The foundation of the Intercell system

The floor panels form the visible and load-bearing layer of the Intercell system. They are laid on the floor supports and together provide a solid, stable surface onto which carpet tiles or another top layer can be applied. The panels are made from 2.0 mm thick galvanised cold-rolled sheet steel, making them strong, durable, and resistant to intensive daily use in demanding environments.
Thanks to the modular design, the panels can be easily removed and replaced, ensuring that the services beneath the floor remain readily accessible at all times. No demolition work, no disruption, and no high maintenance costs for cables, pipework, or heating pipes. Simply lift, adjust, and replace. It is that straightforward — and that reliable is Intercell.

Just 2mm thick, yet strong enough to withstand a maximum load of over 9 kN. Intercell floor panels combine lightweight construction with high load-bearing capacity.

Fast and easy to install

Intercell floor panel installation

The floor panels from Intercell are designed for fast and straightforward installation. They are placed on the floor supports and secured with mega screws and fix clips, after which they are immediately ready for use. No special tools are required, and installation proceeds quickly and without any demolition work, keeping disruption to the surrounding environment to a minimum.

Does a cable need to be rerouted, a floor box relocated, or a heating pipe inspected? The floor panels can be removed and replaced in no time, without any damage to the panel or the structure beneath. This makes Intercell not only a smart choice at the time of initial installation, but also in the long term, when modifications and expansions are inevitable.

Everything You Need to Know
About the Product

What are the dimensions of the floor panels?

Intercell’s standard floor panels measure 500x500mm and are 2.0mm thick. Four floor panels are required per square metre. They fit perfectly on the Intercell floor support system and are available in one standard size.

What material are the floor panels made of?

The floor panels are made of 2.0mm thick galvanised cold-rolled sheet steel. This material is strong, durable, and resistant to intensive daily use in demanding environments. The steel is galvanised to prevent corrosion and ensure a long service life.

How easy are the floor panels to remove?

The floor panels can be removed easily without tools. They are secured with mega screws and fix clips, which can be quickly released when access to the services beneath the floor is required. After maintenance or adjustments, the panels are simply replaced.

Are the floor panels fire-safe?

Yes, the floor panels have been fire-resistance tested and certified in accordance with EN13501-1 and EN13501-2, class Afl-s1. They comply with the most stringent fire safety standards for use in offices, production facilities, museums, and other environments.

Are the floor panels sustainable?

Yes, the steel base elements consist of 100% recyclable material, even after years of intensive use. Intercell is furthermore composed of at least 25% recycled steel that is LEED-approved. Optionally, you can choose a fully carbon-neutral supply of the product through Cool Steel.

Can the floor panels be combined with carpet tiles?

Yes, Intercell’s floor panels can be combined with carpet tiles or another top layer. After installation of the floor panels, laying carpet tiles is quick and straightforward, with power and data cables positioned exactly where you need them.

What is the maximum load capacity of the floor panels?

The floor panels are certified in accordance with EN12825, Class 4B, with a maximum load of more than 9 kN and a deflection of less than 2.5mm. The maximum working load on a point load of 25x25mm is 10 kN, equivalent to more than 1,000 kg.
